Diocesan Bills Explained

Each year the Diocese invoices all its parishes for a variety of things and these invoices are commonly referred to as the "Diocesan Bill". They are for a set of fixed expenses which have not varied very much from year to year. The largest two of these bills for our Parish are insurance and an assessment known as the Cathidraticum.

The day has come upon us! We will be reunited as one Parish today! This is the day we have been waiting for for some twenty years: the day when 1 + 1 = 1. Our day of reunification. While all of the details (i.e. paperwork) may not have been worked out precisely yet, we are still one parish again. In order to fully appreciate this moment in history I think it best to turn back the clock a bit and look at what has happened. In 1855 the first Catholic Church in Leicester was dedicated to St. Polycarp.

Hello Again, We ended our Liturgical year with a bang last weekend. It was sad and we left with full bellies and certainly a bit nostalgic. It was an important moment in our parish’s life. Today is also an important moment in our life as parish. It is the beginning, the actual official beginning, of our life as the Parish of Saint Joseph-Saint Pius X. Beginnings are moments of tremendous hope for us. When we begin something we look straight into nothing except our hopes, our dreams and our great expectations. These dreams, hopes and expectations are not experienced in a vacuum.
