Hello to All of You!!
Well here we are again, its Christmas! It seems to have come quicker this year. I guess that my parents were right about how time flies. Christmas is a time of year when we spend great amounts of time, energy and money on other people. It seems like most of us are busy thinking about the perfect gift.
This is a worthwhile exercise for us at this time of year. I am certain that many of us are also thinking about people who may not be related to us in any way. We are looking for a way to give back to those who may not have the same means as we do. This was most generously demonstrated by our parishioners donating nearly $4000.00 to our two Giving Tree Charities of The Leicester Food Pantry and Dismas House and Farm. These are all works of mercy and charity (love). Thank you to all of us!!
I pray that all of our Christmases will be filled with many “perfect” gifts and much generosity. I pray that we may experience the wonder and awe of the poor shepherds in the fields on the outskirts of Bethlehem, being greeted by a heavenly host of angels. May we hold that wonder in our hearts and ponder it throughout the year to come and, as we do so, may our hearts grow in love, hope and joy.
Have a blessed and Merry Christmas everyone!! Fr. Rob
